This trip was our annual birthday outing. Brett and i's birthdays are
only a day apart, so every year, the group of us travel somewhere new for the
last weekend in April.
This year we chose Gonzaga bay, Mexico. We wanted something remote, on
the water, secluded, and wanted to make getting there an adventure. There
were a total of 6 rigs with us, and 2 of them were first timers to Mexico.
We decided to take the long and Scenic route through San Felipe down the
coast through Puertecitos and along the coast all the way down. The road
in between Puertecitos and Gonzaga is all dirt, and not for the faint of heart,
but the scenery make it well worth it! The views are amazing and and
everyone agreed that it was the right choice vs spending 1/2 the time on the
freeway.
Total driving time from crossing the border in San Diego to arriving at Camp
(with a nice long lunch of Fish Tacos in San Felipe) was about 12 hours. A lot more then some of us expected, but we took our time and enjoyed the drive
Below are some pictures of the trip and as you can see the place is gorgeous!
For the ride home, we decide to take the freeway as we were pressed for time
and stop by the famous CoCos Corner on the way out.
